Had a small fire on Monday.  It was the first one in several months.  I guess it finally got dry enough to burn a little.  Wasn't a whole lot to the fire, but it will serve to get me back ready for the coming leaf loss this fall.

This week has been kind of slow.  With the tropics heating up I might not have any fires for a while.

Season here in Tennessee is about to kick off but it looks to be a wet year. Ill post fire info as we get it. With some luck we will have something to talk about.

FYI for upcoming fire news lets try to format it so that it can get read by the spiders.

State
County
Fire Name
Size
Details

something like that. That will help the site grow (we hope)

I couldn't buy a fire right now if I had to.   It is so wet that the dozers would just get stuck.  It's too wet to put in fire breaks.  I had about 4" of rain this week.

Hey Y'all.  I'm up here in Oregon and it's been raining quite a bit, which is nothing unusual.  We had a very mild winter with little rain but now all of the sudden it's getting pretty regular -even snowing at about 4,500 ft.  I'm in Southern Oregon and according to the US Drought Monitor there is moderate drought in Northern California and Southern Oregon, but if this keeps up that will change soon.

Last year was supposed to be a busy year but it wasn't.  So this year is also supposed to be a busy year and I guess were about to find out.  Excuse me since I am a rookie, but by reading a few posts on here it seems like the season gets started much later in the Southeast?

No fires in south central PA today, but things here are very dry!  No appreciable rainfall around here since June 3.  Hopefully we'll get some rain by the end of this week.   So far, we've been very fortunate!
